Visited: Tuesday Afternoon

A layover for a day took me to Follies. Got there at 3pm on a Tuesday and the parking lot looked packed. To be expected from the reviews I read. No cover, just a tip to the friendly girl packing me down upon entry. Grabbed an empty seat at the bar (which I felt lucky to find) and reconnoitered, as this was my first visit to Follies (and Atlanta). Bustling at 3 in the afternoon, and dark and smokey. Think a Heiniken was around $6. The talent was mostly 5s-7s. A little blonde named Cori came by and shared some intel, and being nice enough to break the ice, I bought her a drink and after a while took a dance. So we go up the bench dance area in the front on the DJ side of the club where you can wind up getting a significant grind from the guy getting his freak on next to you- not a preferable set-up. Cori's dance was underwhelming, to put it mildly, and so I stopped her at the one. She said "I always do a minimum of two". To which I replied "Then you should have said so beforehand. We can talk about it with management if you want." She told the sawbuck and shut up. Bullshit inaugural dance.

Found a seat back by the DJ both and after a while chatted with Kaylie, who said it was her first day, in from Miami. Cute hardbodied 22-year old thing that outclassed most of the afternoon talent and she knew it. We talked about some Miami clubs I knew and then took a few dances. Little grind, little contact but not much. Not enough to go any further anyway.

Got approached on the other side of the club by a latina calling herself Cr****l. Nice rack and knew what to do while dancing. My time was becoming limited and it seemed clear I'd have a good time doing what I want in VIP, so I accepted the offer (the usually arrangement I've read in the reviews here). She wanted to go into the room with 5 couches and I declined (she actually took me in there); when I'm paying for VIP, I don't want my brother in my lap. So we get in one of the private booths next to the bench dance area (which have beads for a door, so not too private) and she lays out a new menu, of additional, very significant charges, which wasn't the deal going in (I'm not a newbie) and she kept pushing it (but the price dropped quickly) Still, I told her no, that if was she switching to that, I'm leaving. And I did.

I'd like to think that I just came across some crappy girls that afternoon, but still I can't bring myself to drink the Follies Kool Aid. The talent was, for the most part, not very good, and the dances not outstanding. $10 a dance is a deal, but not if two dances doesn't compare to one high-mileage $20 dance. The smoke is heavy and thick (cigarettes, cigars, weed...hell there may have been a small bush fire somewhere in there)- I don't know how you could do this place if you have a wife/s.o. And the dance areas afford little to no privacy (not that many people care). Still, if I lived in Atlanta, I could see where being a regular here could be worthwhile.
