There are better options

I'm not sure if this place got worse or I just got more savvy. But I remember going here on trips to Montreal when I was younger, maybe 10 years ago, and thinking you couldn't beat the value - $10 dances with friendly, cute girls. I've now gone twice more recently and been underwhelmed both times.

The price is certainly still right, other than the stupid Montreal thing of having to tip the doorman after already paying a cover charge. And the place looks fine - reasonably clean, good views of the stage, etc. But the talent is mixed, and most of the more attractive dancers could hardly seem less interested in engaging the customers. A bunch of them spent much of the time I was there fiddling with their phones, and when they did come by it was often so perfunctory as to be off-putting.

I did get one dance with a tall, reasonably hot brunette, but she was going through the motions so much that I found myself kind of looking forward to it being over. It's not that I expect real chemistry in these situations, but half-heartedly bumping into me while not looking at me isn't really a big turn-on. It just added to a vibe that I can only describe as slightly depressing, which isn't really what you expect in this town.
