I was leaving Tulsa after a visiting Lady Godiva's and happened to see the sign for Tulsa Landing Strip. This had been my first night at Tulsa clubs and I decided to stop and make some observations so that I could report on this one too.

I've read that TLS had been slipping recently and I suppose it's true. It looked somewhat worn from both the inside and outside. I think there was a cover charge when I stopped at around 10:00 on a Tuesday night. There seemed to be only a couple of customers and about four dancers. I was immediately approached for my drink order and I took a seat about midway back from the stage to watch. A dancer asked to join me and, since I allowed her to sit, the conversation began. The dancer supervisor soon did her job of asking me whether I wanted to buy a her a dancer drink. I resisted, so she left. I did some tipping on stage and was joined by at least one other dancer in my short stay of about 30 mins.. I think that three stopped, all in all. One was a vintage sista with a juicy figure and I asked her about her schedule in the hope that I could collect a contact number, but she just said that she was there every day, w/o offering it.

One dancer showed me the VIP room and did a little salesmanship. There isn't much privacy there and the prospect of fun seemed to be somewhat dim. I probably would have resisted them all that night because I didn't have much of a budget for this club. I have to admit, though, that the dancer drink model for club income doesn't work well with me. I want to spend my money on dances and expect the club to collect its cut from those.
