Not too bad

As many have observed before me, Mardi Gras is no Follies. With that said, my most recent trip to MG was better than I expected. I went later than I normally visit, around 6:30 pm. I didn't know if there would be any cover charge, but there wasn't. Once again the guy at the front wanted to see my ID. No problem but I'm not sure what they look for.

Moving into the club - I've gotten use to the strange mirrors on all the columns and walls. I sat down in the middle island chairs that face the "main bar" It took the waitress about 15 minutes to get to me but in the meantime 4-5 girls came up to see if I wanted company. I explained I was just arriving and needed my first drink... of coke. Eventually I got that. Somewhere around 7:30 I asked about one of my favorites and was first told she wasn't working, however there were many more cute girls than on previous visits. I didn't get any dances but was enjoying and tipping some of the ladies on stage. Not long after that the waitress came back up and said "she's here" Sure enough, I get a tap on the back and there she is. Pretty much hung with her through her first stage set and then a couple of hours afterwards. Before I knew it, a ton of time had flown by.

I did sample the upstairs VIP area on this trip. The theory that it would keep the single PL's out did not prove to be true. There were still more than half the guys up there just kind of watching others get their dances....weird. One interesting observation offered by my dancer friend - she believes they took out the couches and added the small rolling chairs in order to encourage/"force" guys to go ahead and get a comfortable "VIP" room. Probably a pretty solid theory. I did notice the floor managers spending a good bit of time checking for wristbands and sticking their heads in VIP rooms. Definitely a no extras environment. That said...the talent level was up and I got to visit with my fav gal.
