Still dead and with good reason
Stopped in a few weeks ago for my 3rd visit here. I haven't been able to make up my mind about this place. While the other visits were so-so, this was disappointing, even annoying.
I had seen the new Happy Hour listed on their web site. $5 beers, etc. 4-7pm so I figured that was worth another visit. Maybe there would be some life to the place in the afternoon. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Went it about 5:30pm after work, got carded, etc. and sat at the open bar -- the down stairs bar. I'm the only customer in the place! Door man calls upstairs and a dancer comes down and starts dancing on the little stage near the small 4 person bar where I'm sitting. She's not bad but clearly a bit bored -- I can't really blame her, the place is dead. I order my beer and the cure bar maid collects $12. Huh? I ask about the Happy Hour prices. "Oh, sorry, we have new managers and they don't do that any more." Grrrr! Beyond annoying. (I'm writing this about a month later and, sure enough, the web site still touts the wonderful Happy Hour. Maybe the starting having it again? I seriously doubt it. But hey, its that kind of place, sort of a "the customer is always wrong" place and vibe.
Well except for the bar maid. She's cute, pleasant and friendly. So, I nurse my over priced beer, talk to her, watch the dancer a bit, watch the second dancer a bit more -- she was more to my taste and walk out after about 30 minutes, glad to be leaving. By then, customer #2 has arrived. Anyway, the place is a bit letdown. Nice location, high end furnishings, much better lighting than SCs in general so you can see the dancers well. But still, how does this place stay in business? Again this time, almost no customers, and not much effort to encourage them to stay. I dunno, maybe they get busy at night. Maybe I'll try some night but then again, probably not. Two door away is the Camelot SC. Dancers are even hotter, there are 10-25 dancers rather than 2-3, the decor is almost as nice and it's a pleasant place to hang out and watch beautiful women take off all of the clothes (DC rules, of course, full nudity but no, no contact.) I'd have to be having a bad night at the Camelot to want to mosey on down here again.
