First NJ Strip Club Visit
I was in Piscataway, NJ for business for a few days and wanted to visit one of the local establishments. Nothing in the close vicinity was rated highly on TUSCL, so I took a 20 mile drive to The Go Go Rama in Laurence Harbor, NJ. It was relatively easy to find and is right on the corner or Route 35 and Laurence Parkway. The building itself is fairly large, the area around it was clean and there was enough parking for the night I was there, but I can see it being a challenge on a more busy night.
I arrived on a Wednesday night at 10:00 PM or so. Upon entering, I paid a $10 cover and was informed that I had to purchase one non-alcoholic drink. As many have mentioned, the basic setup is a rectangle with the stage in the middle and seating at the stage and further back from it. To the right upon entry are the VIP rooms, DJ and lap dance areas. The lap dance area is directly in front of the DJ, and I thought this was a strange setup. Restrooms are in the back.
I took a seat at the outer area of the bar and the bartender came by and asked what I wanted. I ordered a water, which turned out to be $6.50. The fact they don't serve alcohol (through no fault of their own) and the price for a single 500 ml bottle of water was foreign to me. After paying, she asked to put a wrist band on me, which I suppose indicated that I had purchased a drink.
