Skybox review

Skybox is one of several clubs in the south suburbs of Chicago. It's also one of 3 clubs in Harvey, the other two being Club O (just a block or two away) and Arnie's. I'm not too familiar with Arnie's nor am I particularly interested as I hear that quality and variety are not to be found there. However, Skybox is an example of you get what you pay for or the best bang (no pun intended) for the buck with an occasional pleasant surprise.

The parking lot is unpaved but fairly large and a bit of a walk away (maybe a couple football fields if you don't get a close spot) from the club entrance. Once you get inside a security guy lightly pats you down after carding you. The cover is a somewhat reasonable $10 although there are apps that can reduce or eliminate this charge. There is a mandatory coat check and no hats are allowed (as well as hoodies and probably sweats), so I just leave such items in the car, and you're in the club. The club is more spacious that you would expect (square feet) with a large stage, a medium size stage and one small satellite stage in the back, but the club doesn't feature high ceilings like most other clubs, so it won't feel as "airy" or expansive. They use small tables and bar stools (instead of regular chairs or those cushy rolling single loveseats at more high end clubs) to save space and there isn't a dedicated VIP section like most clubs (and such clubs usually dedicate/waste almost half of their space on VIP sections), so there are probably 300+ regular seats (or bar stools) in the club (main floor, surrounding all 3 stages, and along the bar and a couple rows of table-less stools near the bar and along the wall). So this "little" club might actually accommodate more people than any other in Illinois!

But enough about the physical club which is in decent shape and fairly clean, but nothing fancy either. You probably care more about the girls and drinks, but definitely more about the girls. Drinks are very cheap with beer being $1.50. There are also about 7-12 shot girls walking around offering $1 shots (they're probably about a quarter strength of a full shot) or for $4 more you can drink it between their boobies. I've never seen a food menu, but once in a while a server type guy will be walking around with a large tray of cheap but free pizza. There are about 20 or so dancers; about half of them black, several of them Latina, and less than a handful of them white and one very beautiful Turkish (I think she is; she has a tattoo on her back with the Turkish flag symbol) girl. Average looks are about 7ish, with a couple 9+s and maybe a few strong 8s, and your 6s too, unless you aren't into black chicks at all, where then your rating might drop a bit.
