Consistent customer experience over the years
Whenever I'm in Atlanta, I make it a point to visit the Cheetah. For an infrequent visitor like me, the club's primary appeal is that it delivers a consistently good customer experience. With long-term ownership and management that pays attention to detail, I always know what I'm going to get from a few hours spent there, and that alone keeps me coming back.
Cheetah is a landmark in Midtown Atlanta, easy to find by car (mandatory valet parking is $3) or taxi/Uber and only a short walk from the Midtown MARTA station. The facility is large and well-appointed. After paying the cover ($5 daytime) at the reception desk, you pass by the VIP and "Executive Lounge," the latter of which opens in the evening. The main room is immense, with high ceilings and three stages: a large main stage with a staircase, and two long/narrow stages parallel to two bars. In between the narrow stages is table seating (rectangular tables/dining room chairs); surrounding the main stage and in the back are round tables with barrel upholstered chairs. Lighting and sound are first-rate, and (at least on day shift) the DJ keeps the music at a level that permits conversation. The place gets crowded later in the evening, but during the day most PLs hang out at one of the bars or at a table around the main stage.
Dancer talent is typically strong at the Cheetah--women are young, slender, and attractive. Mainly Caucasian, with a few AA dancers and one Latina on my visit. In all honesty, not much dancing goes on--none of the stages have poles, and often there are two or three dancers per stage. Net, the girls sway around and collect tips. Girls do four song sets; they take off their tops for a $5 tip, and the bottoms for another $5. Once they get off stage, most circulate for conversation and table dances. For the most part, the girls are capable of pleasant conversation, and almost never walk up and deliver the dreaded, "wanna dance?" As others have noted, it's basically "air dances" in the main room, but at $10 each you won't go broke. I had good interaction and dances from several girls over a three-hour period, and (maybe due to my expectations being calibrated) enjoyed myself greatly. Interestingly, I experienced no possessiveness or catty behavior by the dancers. Girls would hang out together, move around and reappear, with no evident territorial BS.
