Bird watching
Oddly, I've lived near Lawrence for 18 years and been a clubber for decades before that, but I had never entered The Bird before today. I don't know why exactly, but maybe it's just that I've been satisfied with what I've experienced at Paradise and the Outhouse.
This afternoon with an hour to kill, I decided what the hell and took a trip over the bridge and down the road to inequity. The interior in considerably nicer than the exterior would lead you to believe. The bathroom was clean, spacious and well appointed. There's no smoking inside, which I very much like. I'm not a drinker whilst driving, so I got a $3 bottled water, a price that suggests reasonable bar prices, but again I can't speak to that. I sat down in from of the active stage, there appears to be two, and started enjoying the afternoon's talent. Tipped those whom motivated me. Some showed their money makers in gratitude. There were no ugly dancers or cows, although good stand to visit the gym for some belly toning.
The best looking dancer was the last of the 10 dancers on shift to hit the stage. She seemed to have an attitude at first but kind of loosened up so I decided to tip. After her set, she found my table and gave me the rundown. $10 no-touch dances on the floor; $20 VIP room dances with touching. "Who doesn't want to touch?" she asked. I couldn't argue that logic. Off we go to the VIP room lined with faux leather couches for faux love. There's only one other couple in the room. The first get-acquainted dance was OK but things got much better once the other couple left -- stick shifting, hummer, face full of pussy. I would have liked to see where it might lead, but I didn't bring a wad of cash for an afternoon adventure.
Was it a great experience? No, but I left satisfied enough. I'll probably continue to spend most of my money at Paradise, where my ATF plies her considerable skills, but I'' make a return to the Bird.
