Although this club has gotten fairly positive reviews on TUSCL, I was unimpressed when I visited it on a recent business trip to the Phoenix area. There was only one dancer at a time on the single stage each in the topless or nude sections; most clubs this size have several stages so that if you don’t fancy the dancer on one stage, you can move to another. The club is also very dark – even darker than most strip clubs – so it is hard to see much, either on stage or during couch dances. Consequently, the famous “bush dive” is over-rated: it may be close but you probably can’t see as much you would from father away with better lighting. And adhering to a common stereotype among less-than-stellar strip clubs, the music was VERY loud. However, there were some compensating good points: The $8 cover charge, with no mandatory drinks, was low. Wednesday evening two-for-one nude couch dances at $20 were a good value. And the dancers were fairly pretty: mostly 7s and 8s with several 9s and even a near 10 (surprisingly and unfortunately offset by one heifer that was seriously chubby and shouldn’t have been taking her clothes off in public.). Overall, I would rate GABC OK; next time I’m in Phoenix on a Wednesday evening, I would probably come back - but I’m not lying awake at night fantasizing about the return trip.
