Gave three chances not impressed

New Solid Gold was my first experience in a Bikini Bar (I will review full nude bars in town in later posts) in Jacksonville, FL. The club was recommended by a friend so I decided to go check it out. The club is unimpressive outside, inside isn't much better. Mandatory drink after paying $10 cover at night (no cover during the day). First time I went in was at night, walked in, paid cover charge, sat on a stool for a few minutes, and couldn't find anyone behind the bar. Then went back to front to see if I could get some ones, they sent me back in where the bartender was now walking towards me to get my order, apparently my walking out was a signal that I wanted a drink. After getting my drink I found a place to watch the stage. As a Bikini Bar the stage dance included wearing of bikini (for the most part). Performers were reasonably proficient on the stage. Most of the performers appear to be college age women in fair to great shape.

After a while a performer came over and sat down next to me. After going through the standard introductions and small talk she asked if I wanted a dance. I asked about the cost per dance, the cost is based on level of undress and seclusion of the VIP dance. Opted for the more expensive version, VIP dance was better than the stage dancing and almost worth the trip. Overall I was not impressed then or the other two times I stopped by (during the day so I didn't waste the money on a cover). I checked out a number of other clubs in the Jacksonville area that I found much more comfortable and enjoyable.
