Typical DC Experience
I finished up with friends at the cigar lounge next door around 9:30, and figured what the hell, it was still early, I'll try this place out for the first time. No cover, at least at the time of my visit. It could have been the way I was dressed, but the initial security and staff were very pleasant and respectful, which seems to be standard for the higher end DC clubs. The higher end feel continued to be a theme once I got upstairs and got a look at the place. Quite nice all around with the decor and lighting. Felt like a popular night club. Unfortunately, it was just as crowded. The small size of the place didn't help either. Was seated by the hostess on the row of seating facing the bar with two small stages and poles on either side of it. Ordered a drink, expensive, but not unexpectedly so, and took a look around.
It is of course a typical DC "strip club" establishment. As in absolutely no contact with the dancers while they're disrobed, and no lapdances. Two girls dance a set on either stage for a few songs, finishing fully nude, then put back on the evening gowns that they walk the floor with and make rounds to every patron in the place, saying thank you, and expecting a few dollars. It's an understandable measure to make up for the no lapdance laws, but can get annoying when it interrupts a pleasant conversation with one of the ladies. On this particular night, there were about 10 or so women working, and given the high class feel of the club, it wasn't surprising that most of them were quite attractive, ranging from 7-10. Really, my only complaint was how crowded it was. Keep it classy, and try a time when it isn't quite so packed, and I think it could be a nice evening. I'll return at some point, I'm sure.
