Had heard of Cowboys through this website. I saw how high it was rated and thought I would check it out when I was in town last Thursday. Was impressed at first - only a $5 cover and it had been a while since I had been exposed to a room full of naked dancing chics. I liked the way it was set up - with comfortable seating and plenty of good viewing of the 3 stages. They rotate and only stay on a stage for one song. So, you don't get bored of any dancer too much. Several of them are very generous with giving you alot for a dollar tip. Also impressed at the low cost of drinks - $2.75. They sell beer, but all they seem to serve is Bud Light.
Here are the reasons that in my experience there I give them a 4: They hardly ever come by to ask you for a dance, and, although I admit the couch dance that I got had alot of grinding in it and the girl that danced for me was very pleasant, she charged me $25 a dance instead of what the DJ said they cost - $20. Also, I bought her a drink when she came to my table, and found that their drinks cost $7.50! On top of giving you change for $8 they expect you to tip $1 on top of that - so drinks end up costing $9 a drink. When a dancer came to sit by my friend and he told the barmaid he didn't want to buy her a drink, she later brought a couple of shots for her, and demanded payment. He didn't have any money, and I had to pay $9 for her, too. That was the last straw for me, and we left.
There are some good things about this club, but I don't think that ethics and strip clubs have to combine to be an oxymoron. They could have some integrity. I know that money is the bottom line for all gentleman's clubs, but I've had better experiences in other clubs - Nashville, Memphis, and Tampa. I don't think this deserves to be rated 13th in the nation.
