During a recent monger trip to Houston, which started at Legends, I also got to Centerfolds on Friday at about 1 am, and then again on Saturday evening after a trip to Treasures Saturday daytime. For my first visit on Friday late-night at Centerfolds, things were still active late at night, but they were closing soon. I was surprised to find that they would close at 2 am, even though it was a weekend night. I was more surprised to find that the most "active" times at Houston strip clubs, at least according to several people I talked to, were on weekdays, since that's when businessmen are in town. Weird. I guess by "in town" they mean "not a long goddamned unreasonably traffic-congested drive from the suburbs." Sounds like an awful place to live. Anyway, I enjoyed my late-night at Centerfolds, even found a stellar lap-dance lady in April (name? I think that was it), a stalwart but feminine girl who does a lot of hand-stands. I highly recommend her for privates. We only had time for a few on that night, and I didn't see her upon my return, so I can't comment on further activity. I liked the laid-back attitude at Centerfolds, more so than any other club I visited in Houston (including Treasures), and I think if I were to return it might become my "main" club, the one from which all other outbound activity would radiate.

I went back to Centerfolds at prime-time the following night, Saturday at about 7:30 or so. I found it less packed than I would have expected, though busy. I again liked most of the women who were there, and there's this nice collegial give-and-take among staff, dancers, and patrons. Other customers, as well, seemed OK; the good-ole-boys weren't offended or homosexually threatened by the idea that I said "hi" to them (as they would have been in Jackson, MS). Oh, and the upstairs bartender looks like the sensei dude from "Karate Kid." "Wax on, wax off." There are some frightening girls here -- a couple of Eastern Europeans who just DON'T get the concept, weird facial make-up, idiotic postures and gestures, and their English isn't good enough anyway, maybe they're indentured to the club owners or a mob outfit or something, otherwise I can't imagine that they're making enough money to stay in the business.
