Me and a couple of buds stopped in to check out Baby Dolls on a Saturday night following a night on the town in Winston Salem. We'd been to the other clubs in Winston before but never here, so we thought we would give it a try. The previous reviews hit the nail on the head, this is a pool hall with a stage. We walked in at 10pm on a Saturday night and ordered some beers. Beers were $3.50. There was an older man behind the bar serving us. There were no waitresses, just him taking care of everybody's drink orders. Seemed like a nice guy but was very difficult to understand him when he talked. The layout is as follows: when you walk in there are two pool tables located to the left and a bar to the right. The stage is in the middle of the room and the DJ booth is on the back wall with the dance room located behind it. There were 6 entertainers working that night (3 white, 3 aa). One of the white girls was very large and older (she didn't tell us her age but she did tell us she was a grandmother of three!) The stage was a couple of feet off the ground with some chairs located on the left and right side of it and an open area in the front of the stage where most people would walk up and tip. It sounds odd, but the thing I enjoyed most about the club was the DJs music selection. He was playing a great variety of rock, country, pop and hip hop (nothing too aggressive though). Other than Granny, the entertainers were too busy to come and talk to us (not surprising given how few girls there were for a Saturday night). Couch dances were $20 but none of us partook. We stayed about an hour and left after the football game we were watching ended. This wasn't a horrible place, seemed to have a nice laid back vibe, like I said, a pool hall with a stage. I might come back if I'm passing through but not worth making a special trip to visit given the other options in Winston.
