Club needs to upgrade VIP dance area
Stopped by the Cricket on a Monday evening to find a decent crowd (Monday night football may have been a factor) and maybe a dozen dancers on shift. Unfortunately, only 2 or 3 of the dancers had decent bodies (as in reasonably slender) and the others were a bit thick for my tastes. I was a bit surprised with the $10 cover as this bar has a reputation for good value but, unlike some of the more upscale clubs, the parking is safe and free at the Cricket so I paid the cover and entered. The bar has a nice friendly vibe with one or two dancers on stage at a time and pretty good circulation of the dancers around the room. I arranged for three private dances-- one was a no-extras girl, one was open for negotiations but was a bit high and the other, while not especially attractive (maybe a 6 in my book), was willing to provide a good time for a reasonable price. My only serious complaint about the Cricket is that the VIP dance facilities are cramped and uncomfortable, consisting of a tiny space that contains a small chair and is set off from the other area by a floor length. Sure extras can happen but you have to be a contortionist or your fun will be very limited. I should also note that dancers were charging $25/song and the songs were not full length songs so the costs added up very quickly. Interestingly, extras were offered at a pretty reasonable rate so I recommend that you negotiate extras while at your table, rather than after sampling a private dance or two. So, this club has some positives (parking, dancers that work the room, reasonable prices for drinks) but if a nice VIP dance is of interest to you, I would recommend most of the other Detroit metro clubs over the Cricket.
