Worth a second visit
I was lured in by their big freeway sign - free admission before 6 on a Saturday after a conference in the area. Why the hell not. First pro, easy access from the freeway. If the wife/gf has any kind of location tracker on your phone (because she knows you're a naughty boy), it's believable that you're still on the freeway heading home, with normal variations in GPS accuracy. Anyway on to the club, they did have free parking at this time which was another plus. Yet another step coaxing me in without too much initial investment. Doorman lets me in for $5 - yeah admission is free but first drink is mandatory. I'll still call that a plus, because my entry pass did indeed get me a drink at a better price than any strip club I've ever been to. Then the napkins at the counter are themselves redeemable for "one FREE ADMISSION at either of these locations in Downtown Los Angeles only" - Dames n' Games and back to Spearmint Rhino. Cool!
The ambience of the club was really nice. The roaring fireplace gave me a nice spot to rest and contemplate my sad existence. Sadness turned to intrigue at the first dancer that came on, a skinny-fit Asian girl who I would've barely given a second look to out in public, but in here she was comfortable and confident. And for a city with such a high Asian population density, I've seen surprisingly few Asian girls in the local strip clubs for whatever reason, so this was a nice change.
I declined a 3-for-100 private dance, and things kind of went downhill from there. After this girl and one other dancer, the place was DEAD for a good 45 minutes. Understandable, since there were only 4 guys total in the club. I finally went up to the bartender to ask when some more girls would be showing up, and I decided that it wasn't worth waiting another hour for 7pm shift change.
