Centerfolds is on a side street just outside the Chinatown area of Boston. There is no place to park nearby, so if you are driving, be forewarned. There is another strip club, the Glass Slipper literally right next door. As I walked up, there was a group of five guys walking out of the Glass Slipper toward Centerfolds. To the left of the entrance to Centerfolds was an empty roped off area manned by a doorman. The roped line is obviously used to control the line when its busy, but it wasn’t busy, and no one was around except for me and the five guys coming from next door. They walked up to the door and attempted to go in, but the doorman directed everyone to the empty roped off line area, and I fell in behind them. Once everyone was in line, the doorman then checked everyone’s ID one-by-one. He then opened the door to let everyone in, but the door opened to the left into the roped off area, and the doorman was standing on that side, too, so everyone had to squeeze by the doorman, the door, and rope line, in order to get it. I guess this set up is supposed to make the place looks classy, but it looked more like something out of a Three Stooges routine. The cover was $10. Upon entry, I discovered this place is really small. The club main floor is probably only about 50 feet by 30 feet, with a good portion of it taken up by the stage. There is a second floor mezzanine surrounding the main floor. Opposite the entrance, there is a small bar, only about 10 feet long, The place is fairly nice, definitely not a dive, but I’m not sure I would call it upscale. The restroom is tiny, and there is no way to avoid the troll residing there. Domestic beer at the bar was a pretty outrageous $8. There was no place to sit at the bar and there was a decent crowd, but there were several open tables scattered around, so I started looking for a table. Once of the bouncers saw me starting to wander around and quickly came over, introduced himself in a friendly manner, shook hands, and asked me if I wanted to sit at the stage or a table. I told him a table and he led me a small table with two chairs in the far corner to the right of the stage. He sat down next to me and asked if I was from out of town (yes) and if it was my first visit (yes). He explained that $20 private dances were available in a room on the other side of the stage, and that upstairs on the mezzanine more private arrangements were available, I think he said $250 for 15 or 30 minutes (I can’t remember exactly, I guess I should start taking notes). Above the mezzanine, he said there was a third floor with even more private arrangements. I told him thanks, but that I would just watch the show and drink my beer for a bit first, so he left. On stage was very solidly built but very good looking blonde, probably mid to late twenties, finishing up her set. She had fake tits, which is not my preference, but they were not outrageously enhanced and she looked good. After she finished, she was replaced a young good looking brunette spinner. It was hard to get a count on the dancers, because most appeared to be upstairs rather than circulating on the floor. However, all of the dancers I saw there were quite good looking, 7-9s, and there may have been some 10s around. About halfway through the set, the bouncer comes back with the solidly built blonde that had been dancing when I first walked in, saying “this is J--, she said she would like to meet you.” Yeah, right. I hadn’t tipped her and she hadn’t even looked my way while she was on stage, but she wants to meet me. So anyway, she sits down and explains the options in a little more detail. The $20 dance room is where most guys start with a “test drive,” but there is no touching. Upstairs in the mezzanine touching is allowed, and above that “anything” goes on the third floor, starting at $700. I had no intention of going to the mezzanine, let alone the anything goes $700 minimum third floor, but I decided to try the $20 test drive dances. The private dance area in a well lit area next to the main club area and, true to her word, these were pure air dances, although her shin touched mine a couple of times. Pretty pathetic, but what I was expecting. At least she was good looking. After my test drive, I sat at a table, watched another couple of dancers on stage, finished my beer, and went next door to check out the Glass Slipper. I guess its worth a visit if you happen to be in Boston, but it's nothing to write home about.
