A Diamond in the Rough

After a few other stops - including trips to VIxens and Mint which aren't worth any additional mention - I ended up at Playhouse, largely in hopes of seeing a dancer that I met at a gas station last Saturday. Of course she wasn't there. Lesson to new people: never SC in hopes of finding one particular girl. Did this at Vixens too, but I figured I would find decent substitutes.

Got to Playhouse at about 2:45 (note: if you drive from Mint, take County Line Road up - it's a breeze). Place was a lot nicer than I expected. I thought it'd be some run-of-the-mill looking place but the outside stood out. Parked across the street on the swale and went in. Paid the $11 cover and went around this wall into a main club. Wasn't a maze like Lido, but you do have to turn. Silly me likes to just walk straight ahead, but whatever.

So I step in the club and the main bar is to my right. Main stage is in the center of a square-shaped area (you come in on the front left) with the usual chairs and tables all around. Stage is in the shape of an octagon, which stood out to me. LD area is in the back right, DJ is in the middle of the back, right behind what looks like the main VIP table. VIP table has its own satellite stage with a pole. Another bar and satellite stage are at the back left, which is outside the little main square area. I think there's a VIP at the extreme back left, but I'm not sure. Only saw women - not just dancers, but civilian women too - back there. I would imagine the restrooms are back in that area too. Surprising number of TVs for such a small place: I counted 9, mostly situated around the bars. Oh: the inside doesn't match the outside. Inside looks like a regular club: like, say, Vegas. Music was 'radio rap'.
