First time visiting but definitely won't be my last time
I've made my rounds all over the valley and have my favorite spots for sure, but only recently did I discover the Blue Moon Lounge. After reading about about it on TUSCL I decided to finally give it a go and I wasn't disappointed.
First a quick description of the club itself which is pretty small and rather basic. There is only one stage with one pole and that's it. They do have some bottled/canned beverages for sale (nothing alcoholic) which is nice I guess but whatever. It is reasonably dark inside the club but certainly not the darkest place I've been to in the valley. The music is played off some jukebox rather than through a DJ which I guess some might take issue with but I don't go to clubs for the music or the DJ. Speaking of the music, it's not cranked up to 11 which I personally liked. I think it could be a little louder but overall it's nice to be able to hold a conversation without the need to shout.
As for my visit, I made my way in the door around 9pm I believe. The doorman outside gave me a tip regarding parking which was nice of him. When I made my way in the club itself the manager working was super cordial and give me a run down of the place and how things flow before taking $12 for a cover and letting me have a seat. There weren't more than maybe 4-5 girls working but to be fair there weren't more than maybe 4-5 guys in the place either so all and all it was very low key. One gripe I had was that the manager seemed to have a hard time keeping someone on stage at all times. When you're getting a one on one with a gal it's not really a huge concern to you, but when you first sit down and find yourself staring at the wall for 10 minutes you begin to rethink your choices. While it did take a bit before anyone was free to visit with me, I did eventually take one of the girls up on the Blue Moon special. The thing that's unique about Blue Moon is that they sell dances in sets of 3 for $41 which actually isn't that bad given that the jukebox doesn't keep time like a DJ at another club will so the songs can and often do go longer than 60 seconds on the dot.
