Cafe Risqué is a nude club in Micanopy and is just adjacent to I-75 (take exit 374 towards Micanopy). It is about 10 miles from Gainesville and 11 miles from the University of Florida. Some of the dancers are University students trying to support their expensive education. Cafe is a good place to grab a lunch or dinner and watch nude girls dance on stage. The nude stage dances are generally of good quality, especially if you tip well. Some dancers constantly ask for money every few seconds and other leave it to your discretion. In either case tip well if you are seated yourself next to the stage. As they say the girls work for money. Surprise! If you are seated in front of those girls who ask for money excessively, it may be smart for you to move to a regular table after few such requests for money. Cafe is open 24 hrs. But, from 3am to 11am there are no stage dances and only nude waitressing is available. The waitress may give topless private dances and so are some of the female managers. The club has many negatives, including, 1) unappealing private dances due to general poor quality of dancers (with the new additions there are a few gems), 2) high cost of private dances ($30) that are in reality are topless bikini dances (even though it is a nude club, girls wear double layers of bikini for private dances), 3) constant presence of video cameras everywhere, including in private dance areas, 4) poor design of dance stage (vertical bars that makes it look like the girls are dancing behind bars in jail and the stage for dances lack the space for dancers to perform stage dance moves), 5) poor quality of furniture and 6) poor quality and inadequacy of men's room. I am happy to report that some new younger dancers have been added, primarily as a result of infusion of new talent when the Fall semester at the University started. Unfortunately some of the good dancers also have left for other clubs in the area. There are still many old dancers who will not survive in other clubs. Club also severely limits the number of dancers in a given shift by preventing them getting on schedule (system seems to be that the girls request a day and time to work and they may or may not get on the schedule when it is finalized). Currently the good dancers include, Feisty, Christine, Nina and Candy. The club has somewhat relaxed the rules for new VIP dance area. But it still is very costly for a topless bikini dance and the girls are allowed to charge what they want. The customers seems to prefer the old private dance area with lower fixed prices. I am not aware of any discounts for multiple dances as is the case in other clubs in the area. Since last review, new additions of talent have enhanced the club. Most of the new additions have migrated to night shifts.
