Mardi Gras II

I stopped by Mardi Gras II this past Friday night on my way home from the thanksgiving holiday. I hadn't been there in almost 10 years and was curious to check the club out after seeing some hot babes on it's facebook page. Here's what I found...

First MG2 is a very easy two minute drive up the hill from the I-91 interchange. It's on a main road in a rural commercial area. There's a paved parking on the front and left sides of the building that was full on my visit and a HUGE dirt lot out back. The entrance is on the front of the building facing the road which is a hike uphill from the back lot. There's no valet. However even the dirt lot was well lit. And there were dancers and customers out back taking a smoke break. So it didn't feel unsafe. Upon entering the dorky kid at the door demanded to see my driver's license (even though he acknowledged that I looked waaaay past 41 never mind 21!). Then he scanned my ID in his words "just to make sure it was real". Seriously! On the night I visited there was a $5 cover. Several other reviewers have already covered the layout. Basically even with a good size crowd there was still ample seating and room to move around with a large bar located to the right of the entrance and a long stage extending off it to the left. The club is nice looking inside. The crowd was noticeably less "urban" then at nearby clubs like Minx (the old Gold Club) and those in Springfield. Most patrons seemed to be mid 20's to 50's blue collar "Townie" type dudes. I agree that the place feels a bit like a "regulars club"/local bar. I counted about a half dozen dancers (including 2 that I only saw outside smoking). However I only stayed for about a half hour before I left for greener pastures. There was nobody there that caught my eye. Overall the broads weren't ugly, but not beauties either. And I didn't see any chics that looked like the ones shown on the club's facebook page! Yeah, I know. I should've known better. But like the PL that I am, I fell for the bait! Any how, the dancers were mostly white, mid to late 20's, single mom, druggie or biker chic types. I'd rate them in the 4 to 7 range. Stageside the ladies would rub their tits right in your face. But their panties stayed firmly on with not even a peek at the pussy (in CT by law this is a topless-only club because it serves alcohol:( I was quoted $20 for a lap dance but didn't partake. Only one dancer approached me and she was the least attractive one there.

My verdict- IMO there are much better options within 15 to 20 minutes. Mynx in Hartford, Mardi Gras in Springfield (MG2's sister club) and Electric Blue in Tolland all have a lot more dancers, more variety, better quality and they don't scan your ID! The only upside I can see about Mardi Gras II besides it's ultra-low hustle vibe is that there's no difficulty parking and it looked like there wasn't the nuisance wangster/gangsta kids like at the other clubs.
