I went to XXXV Club around 23:00 on a Friday night. I saw the neon lights while heading north on NJ 35, so I decided to check it out, going in blind. To park in their shitty gravel parking lot, you have to pay an attendant $5. He then tells you where to park. I walked in and was patted down extensively by a security guard for weapons. At this point, I was guessing this club must attract a lot of blacks because the only clubs where you get padded down or metal detected are “urban” clubs. The security guy also told me that I could not use my smart phone inside. If I needed to use my phone, I’d have to step outside and use it on the patio. Once inside, I was charged $25 for cover. The doorkeeper gave me a red ticket good for a free drink (soda, juice, water).

Inside the club, there are a half dozen waitresses waiting to hound me. At this point, I realize this club is BYOB (no hard alcohol, only allow beer, wine, and champagne). They are supposed to seat you and help you with the booze you bring into the club. None of them pay much attention to me because I am alone and have no booze. The main floor of the club is packed, and there is nowhere for me to sit. I just stand awkwardly near the entrance. There are completely empty areas of the club that could be used to help alleviate the crowd, but they are roped off for the VIP’s that never seem to come. Dumb. The clientele is mostly young thugs trying to act like they are hard. The stage is large and takes up a lot of the floor space. A waitress takes my ticket and goes to get me my free Coke. When she comes back, she tells me that I owe her $5 for the soda. (Rip off attempt #1) I tell her I gave her the ticket before she went to get my drink. She backs down. I give her $1 for a tip, so she will get lost.

Between the parking, cover, and tip, I paid $31 before I even get a chance to relax and see some tits. And I never even got a place to sit.
