Definitely Not Upscale

I was into the idea that this place might be a dive. Most NYC clubs go for higher-end ambiance, and pass the expense on to us. Diamond Club is a dive, but with the same old NY prices and some extra hustle.

You enter to a very brightly lit bar. I ordered a drink, and the staff seemed snobby. Before it even arrived, two dancers aggressively cornered me. One was attractive, the other not at all - and the hot lights didn't help. I've never had such a hard time shaking dancers off. I went from politely declining to outright asking them to leave. I walked away into the main club, a long and very dark room with several chairs and couches along the wall, and sat next to another dancer. I tried to watch the hot, busty girl up on one of the two stages. But these girls were now literally on top of me. I caved and bought a dance from both at the same time, with the promise they'd leave after. And they did.

Unfortunately, I was branded at this point. Other dancers passed me by while scouting, and there were far more dancers than patrons. Can't complain about looks here, in terms of ethnicity and body type there was a nice variety. I sipped my drink and watched the one active stage, watched some Asian group stumble around drunkenly, and watched the old guys who seem to own the place run around like crazy.
