Good, but not great
Having reading a lot of good reviews of Mario's I figured it was about time I got over to see if it lived up to the hype. The layout is nice. smallish bar on the right as you come in with 6 to 8 seats if you're inclined to hang out away from the action. The main stage is large U-shaped with plenty of seating all around. A room of tables is set off away from the stage near the LD area. Drink prices are normal and the service staff is attentive and polite.
On the day I visited I'd say the girls were most in the 6 to 8 range with no real stunners and only a couple of "OMG what are you doing dancing?" I decide to sit in the table area and scope things out. After a bit I was approached by a friendly, but not really "my type", girl who stood next to me staring waiting for me to start up a conversation. After a couple minutes of awkward silence she finally got the hint and moved on. A few minutes later I was approached by the best looking girl in the joint that day who sat down with a cute little "how you doing" smile. From the look in her eyes I'd say she was either half in the bag or stoned outta her mind, but why should I care, right? We talked for a little bit - the usual shit you talk with a stripped about - before she asked about a dance and off we went. The LD area at Mario's is clean, but unfortunately well lit leaving little opportunity for too much extra action. Full nudity with a good deal of two way contact was on tap and I enjoyed three songs before calling it quits.
All in all, I'd say that Mario's is significantly better than other Mass clubs, but falls far short of providing that something special that's available in Providence or down the road at EB.
