Murder Charges Filed after Death at Norton Bar

An arrest has been made and charges have been filed after a fight at a Norton nightclub left a man dead. Norton Police announced on Friday afternoon that 36-year-old Robert Lantz of New Franklin has been charged with murder and felonious assault in the death of 63-year-old Daniel Carraway of Norton. Police say Lantz had gotten into it with Carraway at Desiree's Nightclub in the 4500 block of Wooster Road West and was ordered to leave the joint. He came back inside and had another confrontation, after which both men left through a back door and fought outside. Carraway was found unresponsive on the ground when officers arrived around 10:15 Thursday night. He died at Akron City Hospital at 12:20 Friday morning. The Summit County Medical Examiner's office says the autopsy has been performed, but results are being withheld.
