I should have listened to my inner voice
I went into The Runway late one afternoon for the first in several months. The club itself is very nicely done, roughly as posh as Stars Beaverton was back in the day. All bottled beers are $2 during happy hour. This is the best beer deal in Portland if you like any of the wide variety of bottled beers they have here. They also have an afternoon lunch special Monday through Thursday for $5. The food is good but the portions are now significantly smaller than the last time I was here. The DJ was only slightly annoying and kept the music well below ear splitting levels, a bonus in my book.
Like most Oregon strip clubs The Runway has a few video lottery machines. They're way in the back where the dance booths used to be. This guarantees that there's no chance for a dancer on stage to distract you from giving your money to the state and the club.
Dancers. There were four girls on shift while I was there: thin white, athletic white, curvy white and fat white; sort of like a weird strippery Goldilocks story, but none were "just right." All but the thin girl were blonde. Thin was entirely non-interactive at the rack except to make sure that she quickly flipped any dollars laid down away from the customer and onto the stage. She also did not remove her g-string. The rest of the girls were friendly and their stage sets were similar to what you'd experience at any other Portland club. Athletic appeared to be popular with a couple of the customers who were there while I was. Based on the talent available I did not inquire about lap dances. I also did not see anyone else get a dance while I was there.
