Disappointing time at the Pink Monkey

Have been to many clubs in the area - including the Hammond, IN clubs and suburban Chicago clubs. After seeing all the taxis with the Pink Monkey sign, we decided to head down there around midnight two Thursdays ago after having dinner and drinks near Rush and Oak. We had a taxi take us down there and paid $30 cover charge. There is no alcohol on premises although there is a liquor store around the corner - but we wanted to check it out before committing to be there a while. When we got upstairs there were maybe 6 other guys in the place and 4 girls in sight. Two ladies - both attractive - one Russian, one AA - came and sat at our table. I asked them where everyone was, and they said there were a lot more people there, but back in the VIP room. Regular dances were $30/piece with no contact and $200 to get a VIP room for 15 minutes. We stayed for our mandatory drink and talked to the girls for about 5 minutes, and after I said I wanted to just check out the scene and not go VIP they split, so we stayed a total of about 15 minutes, never did see more than 6 girls in the place, and only saw one person come out of the VIP booths. I've been to VIP's up off North Ave and Admiral Theater on a Thursday night before and both thoses places were hopping - still pretty expensive with minimal action at those places, but a livelier atmosphere. Overall I was pretty disappointed with this place.
