Probably the best club in KCMO.

I've gotten so used to going to Lawrence and Topeka strip clubs that I'd almost forgotten how different the KCMO scene is. Bazooka's does a lot right given the constraints they're under. Visitors from out of town should be aware of what they're in for, though.

For starters the biggest thing to get used to is no alcohol. That's really not the club's fault, it's the laws in Kansas City. It feels weird to go to a club and not have alcohol available. A waitress asked me if I wanted to buy a dancer a drink, and I was sort of baffled by the idea. I felt like kind of a jerk for saying it, but what's the point of buying a dancer a non-alcoholic drink? The dancer didn't seem to mind but I worry I pissed off the waitress.

Theoretically, dancers aren't allowed to go fully nude on stage, but many of them do. That's another legal requirement, but one that the club has an easier time getting away with. The club has a lot easier time getting away with nudity than they would, say, selling alcohol without a license. I'm sure that LE knows what's going on there but I doubt the Chief of Police is going to worry a few dancers are getting naked when there's real crime out there. So, score one for lax law enforcement! Also, most of the dancers have videos of themselves going full nude that are played on TVs at either end of the stage. I doubt the video of the girls is for sale.
