Getting Worse, if That's Possible
I wasn't expecting much at LA Grand this trip, and my experience failed even these low expectations. Mostly, they have raised prices without an accompanying increase in value to the customer. This is a sure formula for business failure. Let's see how they are failing. 1.) Fewer dancers. It appears as if dancers are abandoning the sinking ship. Yes, like rats. I did not see any more than two dancers on the benches out front and no more than six in the club overall. There used to be a lot of dancers before, even on a week night. 2.) Quality of dancers down. Both of the dancers I saw sitting and the ones that came off the floor and then disappeared into the johns in back were about 4 on my 10-point quality scale. Very discouraging. 3. Parking problems. There is a big construction project next door in what used to be a parking lot. There used to be a designated parking lot about a half block away on 11th. No more. So that leaves street parking. Gook luck finding a spot. On the other hand, why would someone spend valuable time out his life to look for parking to go to a club that is so piss-poor? 4. No air conditioning. This just compounds the misery. It had been unusually hot and humid in Los Angeles at this time. So you had to suffer more in a lousy club with a few ugly girls and higher prices. 5.) Higher prices. Not only has the admission price been raised, but there is a sur-charge on dance prices now, passing along a tax levied by the city. Club Fantasy did not do this. WTF I can't recommend this club at all now. There used to be SOME reason, however slight, to come to this club once in a while. Now there is NONE. You'd be better off giving your 20 bucks or so to the panhandlers waiting just outside the doors downstairs. At least the money might do someone some good. Nowadays, you are just throwing it down the rat hole, following the rats fleeing the sinking ship.
