A Dead Dayshift Dulls Memories of a Hopping Night
I stopped by Jill's while traveling on I-70, enticed by memories of an expensive but pleasant evening about a year ago. The club is clean and large, and the staff is friendly, by-and-large. I arrived around 3 PM, and there was one dancer (the place had been open since noon, according to their website). She was chatty and pleasant, but not really my type. I had a drink and waited around for about an hour, and when no other dancers arrived (or emerged from the back), I headed back down the road. Too bad. I was looking to stay for a few hours and drop a little dough.
My evening visit a year or so before was much more exciting; the place was packed, the dancers were hot and seemed to be enjoying themselves, the music was good, and I got a dance from a gorgeous and flirtatious dancer in her mid-30s who was all natural, very much put-together, and had a brain. We had a long chat both before and after the dance, no pressure, completely unrushed. Perfect.
Why do clubs open early if they aren't committed to the dayshift? Maybe I caught the place on an off day, but it was just dead this most recent visit. I would go to Jill's again, but only after dark. Based on my most recent experience, it isn't worth the trip in the daylight.
