Still a very nice, small club, but it definitely has lost a step from 3 or 4 years ago (during the father’s management). The number of dancers and customers are down. Dancers tend to be younger (not a good thing to me) and less attractive (presumably we will all agree this is not a good thing). Even on Fridays it tends to be fairly slow until about 11.

Over the years, they have made a few structural changes. The solo dance room to the right finally has permanent walls that will not fall over if you engage in a rambunctious dance. The dance cubicles near the dancer dressing room are darker, and the far one does not have a speaker blaring away in it.

I go to Harem more often, and this is part of my problem. Dances here are usually a nonnegotiable 20 per (though some will negotiate). At Harem, you can usually get more mileage for as little as half that (though more common will be 2 for 30). Living Room has some nice dancers, so I keep checking in occasionally, but the math just keeps playing on my mind. Back in the day, LR had nicer dancers and a nicer atmosphere, so the price was more acceptable. Now, the dancers are more similar, and I am not that interested in paying for atmosphere. Plus, the sheer volume of dancers at Harem improves your odds dramatically of finding one that will float your boat. I recently was at LR on a Tuesday night around 8:30 and literally only two dancers were in the club. One did a three song set, everyone took a one song break, and then the other went up for three songs. Then, back to the first dancer, etc.
