Better Options Abound in Pompano

Visited 4Play out of curiosity. I seriously doubt I'll be back. 4Play is just off Copans one block East of Dixie Highway. There's big, new sign visible from Copans. The club itself is in a nondescript strip mall; free parking and no cover during the day. The physical plant looks to have had an update with the ownership change. Low ceiling, big rectangular bar near the entrance, lap dance booths and curtained VIP rooms on either side of the stage. Domestic beer was $4.00; service was prompt. Two "specials" during my short visit--2 for 1 lap dances, and $5 call shots (lots of Patron consumed by others). The bar crowd appeared to be mostly regulars, chilling out after work on a Friday afternoon. The music was loud, and the DJ was even louder.

The dancers were, for the most part, an unfortunate lot. Most were older, heavier, and less attractive than other nearby options. A couple of them stopped by to "chat up the new guy," but couldn't sustain a conversation or entice me to try a lap dance. There were two decent-looking AA girls; one was busy with a regular, while the other was too sleepy or too drunk to say, "hello." It's possible that I just happened by on a bad day, but after one beer I concluded that the great Dolfan was right--there are many better options nearby.
