West Palm's Low-Rent Option
After a lame experience at Cheetah WPB, and out of curiosity, I paid a visit to Flashdance International in the early afternoon. FI is easy to find, off Military Trail at Purdy; free parking in the lot behind the club, no cover charge. The physical plant is about what you'd expect for a place named for an '80s movie--run down, but not so bad you'd want your immunizations updated before entering. FI is decent sized, with a large rectangular bar in the center of the club. As you enter, the main stage is to your right, while to the left is an area with couches (essentially, the lap dance area). There were around 8 dancers and maybe a dozen customers, mainly seated around the bar. Bar service was prompt and courteous, with a 16 oz. Budweiser in an aluminum bottle going for $3.00 (perhaps the least I've ever paid for a beer in a strip club).
Now, the bad news. Six of the eight dancers working that shift should seriously consider a different career. Homely, obese, and/or strung out was the general visual impression. On the bright side, a few of the women were able to carry on a decent conversation, and there was no pressure for lappers or VIP. A couple of the more attractive dancers were pretty busy--a relatively fit AA dancer was with customers my entire visit. After a bit, I settled on a big-booty Latina with decent hygiene and personality, and went for a few couch dances. The area offered no privacy, but the mileage was OK and the value was outstanding, $10/song (before 4:00 pm). A private room was offered at $170 all in, but I declined and bolted after finishing my beer.
Overall, Dolfan, as usual, had it right in his review (below). FI offers low costs and low pressure in a slightly sketchy place. Given dancer turnover, I'm sure that there is an occasional "diamond in the rough" working there; last Thursday just wasn't my lucky day.
