Horrible visit
Well, another flight to LA, so another chance to check out some clubs. On my last trip, I went to Tj's Showgirls and Bare Elegance, both were very good.
On Sunday night my colleague and I decided to try the Flamingo because I had read the reviews and they had piqued my interest. It was a disaster. We arrived around 11 PM, and paid the $20 dollars which included a non-alcoholic drink. We went inside and immediately noticed it's not like Bare Elegance ... at all. The club interior was uninviting and cold, with cheap furniture and a few booths. There was one girl dancing, and a few girls hanging around. maybe 5 other patrons at that time. After we got our drinks, we sat down, and it wasn't 30 seconds before some girls showed up to sit with us. Both were way below average, and as soon as they sat down, the drink hustle started. We were suckers and I bought my girl a lemonade for $20 dollars. The girl then went through dance options from $10 dollars or $20 dollars (bit more touching) in a non-private area next to the stage for one song, to in the upper $100's in a relatively private room where for that price "anything goes". Yes, everything appeared to be on the menu for that price, plus perhaps a tip. I didn't really like her that much, but wanted to sample the goods for one song, so I did. After a pretty terrible dance (hate to say it, but she smelled horrendous you know where, she charged me for 2 songs ($40) even though it was clearly just one short song. I made that clear to her, but didn't feel like haggling or causing a scene, so I paid the $40 bucks. Yes, I know I shouldn't have, but at that point my only goal was to leave. Needless to say, we were out of there right after that, and did the 30 minute drive back to Bare Elegance where we spent a great 3 hours from midnight - closing at 3 AM.
In summary, $80 down the drain just to say I went to the Flamingo and survived. I may just say it was the "time of day", and maybe there are some beautiful girls working there at times (we didn't see them that night), but the drink and dance rip-off were unacceptable, and if that goes on regularly, I can't imagine this club surviving. But I guess there's always enough sucker Disney tourists around to keep the place going. Save your money for a better club. For example, TJ's Showgirls in Stanton is very close and much, much nicer than this club from my experience.
