At least part of it's a bargain
I hit up Rick's when I had an afternoon off because I had actually heard good things about their lunch. They have a bunch of nice sounding appetizers, but the best part is a $10 prix fixe lunch. Soup or salad, an entree (you can choose from around 7, if I remember correctly) and a dessert. I ended up with a caesar salad, steak frites and skipping dessert since the main dish was so filling.
I guess I should back up and say that their was no cover since it was during the day. They start charging cover later in the evening, probably around 7 like most NYC clubs. There is a mandatory coat check, but it's tip only, no fee. Rick's has looked the same since forever. Once you walk down the hall and enter the main room, you see the main stage on your left, quite a few tables with 2-3 chairs each in the middle of the floor, and the secondary small stage/pole and bar to your right. There are tables along the main stage, but the stage is so high, it doesn't really feel like a rail, and as far as I could see no one really tipped the stage dancer. There's also a stairway to the left of the stage. I've never been upstairs, but I think it's more dining seats and the private rooms.
If you get a dance on the main floor, the dancer just takes you to one of the chairs that's nestled along a darker part of the wall. There was a decent crowd - because of the lunch, I assume - and there were quite a few dancers for a day shift, and you could see more trickle in during the lunch rush. Overall quite attractive. The one I decided to go with just had incredible, huge natural breasts, and she was kind enough to rub them up against me. The dancing wasn't great, but it was nice to get close. Lap dances are the standard $20. I did ask, and it sounds like you can get 15 min private room for $150 and and more for longer. Apologies, but I can't remember the prices for longer.
