An Overdue Visit

It had been a few years since we were last here. But as good fortune would have it, Jay, Maine was right on our path on a Friday night.

First of all, the place is under new management, and the name is now Hour Place. The new management is ambitious: they are adding a shower room, a lingerie shop (buy something for a dancer and then..??), and adding another VIP room or two. This construction has used up previous seating space, and they are still in the middle of the remodeling. Beers were $5 and the bartenders were cuties.

This particularly Friday, just before the Labor Day weekend, was extremely quiet. They dispensed with the usual stage show/introduction and went straight to lap dancing. Prices are up--you previously could pay just a few dollars for a half-song lap dance early in the evening. Now the rates are constant: 1/2 song $10, whole song $20. At 10:30 the bottoms come off. There is lots of two-way contact with some of the dancers, others may not do any stick-shifting at all, and some of the dancers are quite athletic and engaging. (Shoulder stand in your lap with goodies just millimeters away from your face!)
