Centerfold Lounge

This is a true dive bar, but I don’t necessarily consider that a bad thing. It’s located on a main road in a commercial area close to a Wal-Mart, so the neighborhood is not bad, although no one would call it nice either. Cover charge is $5 and you get patted down upon entry. Inside, the place is small, with one small main stage and a smaller satellite stage in the back that is apparently only used if a girl feels like using it. The interior matches the exterior look: dated and and worn out. The bathroom smelled like urine, but there was no bathroom attendant. You take the bad with the good. When I went in on a Thursday night there was a pretty good crowd, mainly white working class, although there were also blacks. Drink prices were reasonable. I paid either $4.25 or $4.75 for a beer, I can’t remember which, but even $4.75 is reasonable for a strip club. There was a short Filipina looking bar tender who was pleasant and efficient. There were maybe a dozen dancers, probably evenly split white and AA. I would rate most 4-5 if I were being generous, but there were a couple who were really pretty, including one slender AA that I would rate a 9. Some the girls will take their tops off on stage. The VIP area is a room lined with small couches off the main bar area. There is absolutely no privacy. I don’t know if any of the girls offer extras here with the private dances, but I don’t see how they could given the no privacy layout of the VIP area. A couple of the 4-5 range girls asked me for private dances at $30, which appears to the standard starting price in Jacksonville. I declined and didn’t attempt to negotiate because I had no interest at all. I had a few beers and left. This is not a bad place to hang out for a little while, have a couple of drinks and watch some mostly mediocre dancers. It’s divey, but I didn’t ever have any safety concerns. I’m not sure I will go back, but I wouldn’t warn anyone away from it either.
