A mixed bag in TJ

This place is kinda weird for TJ. The owners put a ton of money into renovating both the interior and exterior (to the point where they nicely tiled the sidewalk in front of the club, while the rest of the street has old shitty concrete sidewalk), but the girls are meh. They rarely even have girls dancing, even on the prime Friday/Saturday evening shift. I've heard it's used for private parties and from what I've seen it definitely caters more to the locals than to gringos. No cover charge, even on weekends. They usually have a guy out on the street near HK trying to solicit customers.

The layout itself is ok, but a bit much for the traffic it actually gets. It's basically a long narrow room, with 3 small circular stages for dancers and tables on either side. The bar is on the left wall, about 2/3 of the way down the room, and there is another stage and couple of tables in the back, next to the bathrooms, along with stairs that lead up to the VIP rooms (never been in them though). The climate control has always been on point for me, which is great because many of these places are hit-or-miss with their AC.

All the girls sit on benches on the south wall of the club, facing all the tables. It's a little weird, because when it's dead and there's nobody on stage it's basically you and a bunch of girls staring at one another. They're not exactly TJ's finest either, mostly semi-pro single moms with plenty of baby damage and no desire to get up on stage and shake their asses. This type always wears dresses and is usually pretty shy, at least at first. D&G does usually have a 2-5 actual dancers on the weekends, dressed up in skimpy lingerie, but they usually get snapped up by clients real quick, and spend all night at tables. Don't come here looking for a show, although the caveat goes for basically all the Zona Norte bars except for HK.
