A great little place, it's a shame they're not more common!

I first happened upon Adult World in 2014, while I was in Birmingham for the weekend and looking for something to do before my train home arrived on Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed it so much that I re-visited when I was back in Birmingham this year. As you enter, the place looks the same as any other adult shop: over-priced Porn DVD's, vibrators and butt plugs for sale, everything is either black, silver or hot pink, that kind of thing. But Adult World also features two other attractions, an adult cinema (which are supposedly on the brink of extinction in the UK now) and private nude lap dances. It costs £10 to get into the cinema, which screens porn films that can be bought on DVD in the main shop, but the films aren't really good quality (then again, I'm biased against British and European porn). There are about 80 seats, and the cinema was always packed with viewers every time I visited. Adult World also advertises live strip shows, where a stripper comes onto the stage in front of the cinema screen and does an erotic dance. They do this about four or five times a day, once every two hours from 12pm, everyday except Sundays, but I've never seen one of these shows because I've never been in the area at the right times.

The main thing that draws me to Adult World however is the private lap dances. It costs £20 for a token and you have to wait in the cinema for a minute or two while the girl gets ready. She then leads you into a small room with a mirror on every wall and a comfy arm chair. Every dance I've had at Adult World has been an amazing, intimate experience, above and beyond any other strip club I've been to. The girls are not only sexy, but very cheerful and friendly, and even sometimes flirty! I've heard other reviews say you get pot luck with the strippers at this place and they usually just do air dances, but every time I've been the girls did touch me as they danced. In my most recent visit, the dancer was a cute, bubbly lady who never stopped smiling, she stripped fully nude and rubbed against me, bucking her hips to the beat of the music as if we were actually having sex. This was on a Friday, but unfortunately when I returned the next day there was no dancer (even though the girl on the counter said there usually is, and they SHOULD have been there...), and as of 2015 they don't have dancers on Sundays (my first lap dance in Adult World was on a Sunday in 2014). Nevertheless, Adult World has become one of my favourite places in Birmingham City Centre, and I'll make it my business to visit whenever I'm in Birmingham. It's just a shame that, as far as I know, Adult World is the only adult shop in the UK which offers private lap dances. If there was any justice in the world, this kind of establishment would be a LOT more common.
