I went to the Spot Lite Lounge a little after 8pm on a Tuesday evening. The cover was $3. This place epitomizes the phrase “dive bar with strippers”. The bar is on a corner in downtown West Allis. Half of the inside is a large bar. The stage is in the front of the building. At the back, just in front of the bathrooms is a single pool table. There is a wooden booth structure on the side of the room where lap dances take place at a price of $25, just down the wall from a few electronic gambling machines. A curtain on the entrance afforded some privacy. The music is picked by the dancers from a jukebox near the stage. Most of the music seemed to be pop music, classic rock, or oldies.

A bottle of beer is $4.50. Between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday through Thursday, they have Double Bubble: two-for-one drinks. There was some thug factor at the club. I got the impression West Allis has some riff raff, and the area of Milwaukee traveling east from the Spot Lite is also ghetto. There was never more than about six patrons in the bar at one time.

I caught the tail end of day shift. The day shift consisted of five dancers: three white and two black. The dancers appeared to all be over 30 years of age with one likely being over 40. Numerically, all of them were either a 1 or 2 on the ten point scale. Shift change is about 9pm. The night shift consisted of four dancers: three black and one white. All of the night shift was in the 1-3 in beauty, except for a 20 year old black dancer named Summer, who was the best-looking dancer across both shifts, coming in at possibly a 7 rating. The two older black dancers appeared to be on drugs; they acted like they were out of it. I did not see anyone buy lap dances while I was at the Spot Lite, nor anyone tips at the stage. Like other area clubs, the dancers do a tip walk once they are done dancing on stage. A single dollar was sufficient to keep them moving along. Surprisingly, these ugly dancers were happy to make a lower hourly wage than Wal-Mart after paying $1 to the club for every song they played on the jukebox. OTC action is realistic here, that is, if you like crackwhores.
