Not classy enough for the price, but almost a fun dive bar.

Finally bit the bullet and tried Private Eyes. It's a grimy club for Manhattan and priced like all the others. I still had fun, but they might do better to embrace its seedier side.

Thursday night was full but not too crowded. No coat check, cover as expected. You enter into a bar area with no view of the dancers. Waitresses were pretty and cold. Saw one arguing with a drunk customer about a $3,000 bill he couldn't remember racking up. Went in to the actual club, a large square room with a small "stage" in the middle, just a small boxed-off platform that the girls grind on before looking for dances. Can't say much for the space in general, it's definitely not trying for high class. The girls were mostly Eastern European, attractive but very little variety on this night.

A gorgeous Caribbean girl sat and chatted forever without asking for a dance or a drink. Our eventual lap dance was against a wall to the side of the room. No privacy, but still sexy and not a typical air-dance. After she moved on, several European girls came along. None of them pushed the VIP rooms or drinks, and I enjoyed a few more dances. For better or worse, all the performances were exactly the same. The waitress, an attractive but hostile older woman, kept hustling for drinks well after I'd passed the minimum, which eventually turned me away.
