sinclair's Review
I visited Encore twice during a week in town. The first visit was around 2pm on a Monday afternoon. The second visit was at 9pm on a Wednesday evening, right after the Brewer’s game. Encore is located on a dead end street close to Interstate 94 and within a mile of Miller Park. The building looks like it was a Victorian house painted black and converted into a bar/strip club. From what I saw, there is only one stage. It has tipping counter and chairs surrounding it. Dancers use a TouchTunes jukebox to pick their music. There is no cover during the day and a $5 cover in the evening. A domestic bottle was $4.50 during both visits.
My Monday afternoon visit was a bust. The club was a ghost town besides two guys drinking at the bar. There were four dancers working, and all four were rough looking. They were all 30 years of age or older. All showed residual signs of childbearing or obesity. Like all Milwaukee clubs, there is a tip walk when a dancer finishes her stage set. A dollar was sufficient to be left alone. There was an area to get private dances: chairs lined up against the wall.
I timed my Wednesday night visit to be right as the Brewer’s game a mile away was ending. I was hoping the Brewers fans would flood in and that would be a magnet for good-looking dancers to work the night shift at Encore. This did not come into fruition. Only about ten Brewers fans came in after the game, and the club offered only six dancers for my viewing displeasure. The dancers were in the 1-4 range. Nobody in the club bought private dances. There is a sign on the wall saying: Do not touch the dancers. Touching the Dancers is a Class E felony punishable by 9 months imprisonment or $10,000 penalty. I guess even if you found a decent looking dancer here, the club is keen on preventing your from having any fun.
