sinclair's Review
I visited On The Border three times recently while working close by--one time around lunchtime on a Thursday, a second time after 22:00 on a Wednesday night, and a third time after 22:00 on a Tuesday night. The club is located south of Milwaukee in Franklin, not too far from Exit 325 on Interstate 94. The parking lot was well-lit at night. The club is fairly large. Inside there is a huge crescent bar with I’d guess forty bar seats. Beyond that are two stages. A smaller, higher level stage has two poles. A larger, lower level stage has two poles as well. I guess on a busy evening, the club could potentially have four dancers performing between the two stages. The private dance area is all the way on the far end of the room. The entire lap dance area is rigged with cameras, and there is an employee who you can see sitting back there watching the closed circuit programming. There is also a VIP room; I have no experience to say whether that room is also rigged up. At least for the regular dances, you will not be getting extras. OTB has a lot of restrictions. I was not able to wear a hat inside. I also saw a sign stating you could not use your smart phone inside the club.
On the Thursday visit, I was in almost right after the club opened at 11:30. I was the only customer and felt bad about paying the $5 cover because there were no dancers on stage. Two or three other customers finally came around noon. By the time I left at 12:45, there were four dancers, but they were all typical day shift gals: in their 30’s or late 20’s with stretch marks. A soda with too much ice and too little fizz cost me $4.25. The only redeeming part of the visit was getting a free buffet lunch—lasagna and bread sticks. Surprisingly, the food was good. Then again, I got it right as they put it out. It was not vegetating for several hours on the hot plate. I would not return here again on the dayshift; it sucked.
On the Wednesday night visit, the club was fairly packed, and the cover was $10. There was one dancer on each of the two stages. I counted twenty-five dancers on shift. Their quality was 3-7 with one 8. A bottle of domestic beer cost me $3.50, but that is the Wednesday special. Beer costs more on other days of the week. What surprised me was that almost forty percent of the dancers were African-American since this club is a ways out from the inner city. I found three Caucasian dancers to be worthy of my time, the best of which was a fit dancer named Aubrey--at least I think that was what her name was. She was nice to look at, but her lap dances were quite mediocre.
