pleasantly surprised, but bad ratio on Monday night

I was driving through Lafayette and decided to stop by after finding this club on TUSCL. It was a Monday night, so I didn't really know what to expect as most cities this size are asleep by 9pm. From the outside, the club was attractive and felt safe - easy parking (at least on a Monday) and walked in. $4 cover to get in, and as I expected it was pretty empty at 11pm on a Monday. There were 4-5 dancers on duty, and a couple more showed up as the night went on. At first there were no patrons at tables - everyone was at the bar. Drinks are very affordable - 1.25 for a draft beer while if you buy a drink for a dancer there is a nice surcharge included, part of which the dancer gets. Of the 7ish dancers there, two were 8s, both were african american (personally I have no race preference - if she looks good she looks good), a 7ish AA lady, and then the rest were on the large side and white. Overall, while the sample was small, 1/2 the ladies were on the very attractive end and the other 1/2 bbw types (not my type.) I was pleasantly surprised by the ratio, and if this holds when the club is full, it's likely a very fun place to be.

I sat at a table and was shortly approached by one of the 8s with a nice curvy (not big) shape. We chatted, I bought her a drink, and shortly after she went on stage. She was very good on the pole, so I was looking forward to her returning to my table to talk about a private dance. She told me to hold on as another guy had approached her for a dance - ok, I can wait, it's probably only a couple songs. Meanwhile, the other 8 took the stage - thin little spinner type that looked really good. I told her to come see me afterwards, and she obliged. She said she was uncomfortable pushing in on the previous dancer's territory (she had left her drink at the table) but to let me know if/when I wanted to chat or get a dance. Ok, I can wait for girl #1. And wait I did - for 45 minutes. Sitting there twiddling my thumbs and politely declining the bbw in the house. Finally, when she did show up, I got my private dance. It turned out that she spent most of that time in the dressing room.

The private dance are is somewhat (not totally) private. Dances are $20, which is paid to the bartender. I dunno if this is the norm, but the dancers have to pay for the songs to be played (no dj on a Monday), which seems pretty dumb really. Of course they're going to ask me to pay for it, which I do. The private dance was good - they will obviously reveal a bit more than they do on stage, and touching was generous - enough to keep one coming back, but there were certainly limits. The dance was a couple songs long so you don't feel cheated, but there seemed to be an expectation of a tip at the end (makes sense because the house is paid first.) I let her know I wanted to chill for a bit in the main area.
