Oasis 2
After an interesting afternoon visit (see below), I decided to try an evening visit as well. I arrived around 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. Although there was ample free parking in the lot, the place was very busy inside. All of the tables were occupied, all of the spots at the main bar to the left were also taken, and there were a good number of guys standing around. I made my way to the back bar in the right corner, but there was no opening at this bar either. The bartender looked remarkably like “Mama” in the 80’s “Throw Mama from the Train” movie (butt ugly in other words). It turns out she was an excellent bartender. She noticed me immediately when I stepped up to the crowded bar and made sure I had a fresh beer the rest of the evening (about $5-5.50 as I recall). Since there was no seating anywhere, I stood next to the small stage next to the back bar. The dancer on that stage was probably slightly below average given the generally high quality of the dancers on the night shift, but since I was standing right next to the stage I tipped here a couple of bucks. Eventually, a stool opened up at the back bar and I took a seat. This bar is close to the entrance to the restrooms, so it’s actually a pretty good spot to scope out the dancers as they all make their way through this area at one point or another. However, it’s also kind of out of the main circulation area for the dancers, who tend to roam the large main floor area. It was hard to get a count on the dancers given how busy it was, but there had to be at least several dozen of many different body types, most quite good looking. There was definitely a substantial improvement over the day shift in both quantity and quality. After sitting at the bar for a while, the dancer I had tipped on the small stage wedged her self next to me and struck up a conversation. She was clearly drunk to the point of slightly slurring her words. I decided to buy her a drink and chat and see what developed. She started pushing for a VIP dance right away and promised a good time, but was vague on specifics. She quoted $200, which didn’t seem a bad price, particularly given the intel had gathered from day visit, but I wasn’t particularly interested in her so I declined. I did get a couple of $10 bar side dances with light two way contact—not bad by Atlanta non-Follies standards, but nothing to write home about. All-in-all, not a bad visit. The place was busy, had lots of good looking dancers, had a good energy level, and the music was not gangster. I’m pretty sure I could have gotten some pretty good mileage in the VIP, particularly given the intoxication level of this particular dancer, but whether that could be generalized to the other dancers on night shift is an open question.
