Cafe Risque

This review is a combination of daytime and nighttime visits. Cafe Risqué is a nude club in Micanopy and is just adjacent to I-75. In general Cafe Risqué is unappealing for private dances because of the quality of dances, high cost, video camera and poor selection of dancers. It is a good place to grab a lunch or dinner and watch girls dance on stage. If you chose you can approach the stage and contribute some funds to the dancer. Dancer quality varies widely and for a college town it is poor. With the abundant supply of talent from the University and surrounding small towns, it is a question screening better at initial hiring and retaining only the best. There are several older dancers in day shifts who perhaps should not be working in a nude club. The club has a mix of Whites, Latinos and African American dancers, mostly whites. Alex, Star, Nina, Sky and Christine give excellent lap dances within the limitations of no touching rule of the club and camera watching you. Sky is perhaps the best dancer in the club. Being ever optimistic I had given one more try to Jamie. Her dances are pretty lame and unenthusiastic compared to others. I was told that she has fought with customers, dancers and staff. She can be rude. Given her rudeness, I'm surprised that she still works in Cafe. She probably will do well in another employment with limited customer and staff interactions. I can suggest the newer additions Russia and Vicky for your consideration. The club itself could use a major renovation of the interior spaces. Men's room often has the only urinal that exist not working, leaving only one functioning toilet. Men's room require major upgrade and addition of stalls and an extra toilet. Furniture are of poor quality and some has torn covers. The stage dance has row of bars making it look like dancers are in jail. It is too narrow for dancers to perform pole tricks as in other clubs. Furthermore many have no skills perform on stage or pole. Normal private dances are done topless on a bed with video camera watching you. No touching by customers is allowed. The charges for private dances are $30 for 1 and $50 for 2. As mentioned before Cafe has built a new dance booth for private dances that costs $100 -150 for 15 min (depending on the girl as they set the rate) and it is $80 or higher for 10 min. It is less private than other private dance booths as other customers can see through the transparent screen. Also the ever present video camera is there. It certainly is not worth the extra cost. Don't waste your time and money in the new dance both. Dancers may give the impression that you are getting something extra for a steep premium rate. Given Cafe's convenient location and access to large pool of University students, I wish I could give a stronger recommendation. By the end of the month, once could hope for infusion of new talent when Fall semester at University starts.
