Disappointed

I've been to Club Risque on the Delaware many times. Last year, I would go about once per month. After an 9 month absence or so, circumstances allowed me to return. I've always said it's my favorite Philly club, with good looking, fun dancers, a decent atmosphere, etc. This time was a bit different than my usual great experience. First, it was a Tuesday in the summer, so it was slow. There were only about 6 dancers on. I ended up talking to a few, and finally settled on "Jesse," an early thirties blond. She knew many of the girls I had hung out with before, and assured me she was just as fun. We did a lap dance, which was quite good, so I went for the VIP ($200). HUGE disappointment. Nothing more than what was going on for the lap dance, just longer. Plus, she spent 10 mins in the bathroom at the outset, and another 5 asking them to turn up the A/C in the room. Ridiculous rip off. Every dancer has different comfort levels with touching, but other than T+A, nothing else. She claimed the club had recently "tightened things up" in the last few months, which I really don't believe. Don't get me wrong...I don't expect anything illegal, but up to that point, I'm not going to be a satisfied customer with a girl dry humping me.

Other than the disappointing VIP experience this time around, here's the deal with the club: Lap dances are $20 a song, and usually include plenty of T+A touching. You will occasionally get a dancer who doesn't allow that, so you might want to ask first. Drinks are typically outrageous (Corona=$7), but there are some specials. Cigar smoking is allowed, which is a huge plus for me. Cover varies widely, from $0 to $20. Dancers are topless only, and keep their thongs on in the VIP (usually). The seating is decent and there is a big projector screen with whatever sports are on TV at the moment. Dancers are generally attractive, much more so on weekend nights, obviously. This isn't a "throw money" club generally. Instead, the girls do the dollar parade. This was another change I noticed, in that the girls didn't really give much thanks for the tip with their boobs. The just took the dollar and sort of stood back and said thanks. I've been there other times where they share their boobs generously when collecting tips.

I attribute most of my disappointment to the night of the week and the B team being on, as well as choosing the wrong girl for the VIP. My bad.
