Saturday Night at Stars

I came here for the first time in a long time the other day. Overall, it wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be.

My biggest complaint was that the club was really slow when I got there around 9:15. I know that's early, but we're talking weekday afternoon levels of dead. When I got there, there were only about 3 or 4 dancers currently working. And between each set, it seemed like there was a 1-2 minute downtime while they called the next dancer to the stage. Until about 10:00, I was pretty much the only customer who sat at the rack, not that there were many customers period.

There was also this bizarre incident where the DJ made a dancer go on twice in a row. The DJ had been calling the dancer for a while. When she finally got on stage, she quickly took her top off and jumped right into it. After over a minute of dancing to the song that was playing when she got on stage, the DJ changed the song. The dancer, assuming it was the second song, got naked and kept dancing. At the end of the song, she got off the stage. The DJ then went an tracked her down, told her she had only done one song, and made her get back on stage. Instead of just playing one more song, the DJ made her do a full two song set again. So she had to start all over, starting in her outfit and working to getting naked. The dancer was good, and I enjoyed her first set, but no one wants to see a dancer twice in a row, especially when you just saw her naked, and now she's wearing clothes. I'm not sure if the DJ was just stalling for time, since so few dancers were ready to go or what, but it was one of the more pointless and strange things I've seen a DJ do.
