I get to the Detroit area once or twice a year, but having read about some changes going on in the Detroit scene, I decided to forego my usual trip to the Penthouse Club and instead visit the sister club, Flight Club, to compare the experience. Ultimately, the club itself wasn't that dissimilar than Penthouse -- similar decor, similar stage shape, similar VIP areas, similar balcony, just a slightly different layout but nothing that would throw you too much -- but I had two very different experiences in two visits.

The peg of what I'm going to try and say is this: When you have a club where it's pretty clear they don't coach the dancers as to what they can or can't do, and they certainly don't do that at Flight Club, you're going to run the risk of wildly varied experiences between dancers. It will ultimately be up to the dancer what kind of service she wants to give. It might be really good, or it might be really bad. I got to experience both.

I first went during the day, before the business I had. The dancer count was small -- there were maybe four or five dancers upstairs smoking, probably one or two dancers in the back and one on stage, a busty blonde that was a classic D with some, but not many tattoos. I went upstairs to see who was upstairs and while one older dancer was quite personable, she didn't exactly fit my fancy. I kept making eye contact with the woman on stage, though, so I decided to go down and check her out.
